Forward Deployed Engineer

What you will do

• Sit with operators, watch the work, and write down the systems, handoffs, and exceptions that actually run the week.
• Keep useful CRMs, ERPs, accounting tools, and databases in place. Connect them before you replace them.
• Ship a first working slice in weeks: a board, a portal, an intake flow, a report, or an agent that prepares work for a person to review.
• Build and wire automations: document intake, record updates, exception flags, follow-up drafts, and cross-system sync.
• Deploy, watch production, fix what breaks, and take the next item on the request list.
• Leave the client with something they use every day, not a demo that dies after the workshop.

What you bring

• Hands-on experience building production web systems: APIs, data models, auth, and interfaces people actually click.
• Time spent inside messy real systems: spreadsheets, inboxes, CRMs, ERPs, or industry software, not only greenfield apps.
• Comfort reading a workflow, naming the bottleneck, and choosing keep, connect, extend, or replace.
• The habit of using AI tools to write, review, debug, and document, then checking the result yourself.
• Clear writing. You can explain a system to a founder without a diagram full of jargon.

AI-first, in practice

• You already use models, agents, and coding assistants as part of how you ship, not as a side experiment.
• You can design a reviewable AI step in a business process: intake, summary, classification, draft, or alert, with a person still in control.
• You know the difference between a chatbot bolted onto a page and an agent that updates the system of record.
