Technology Consultant

What you will do

• Lead discovery: how work, customers, and information move through the company today.
• Map current systems and name what should stay, connect, extend, or be replaced.
• Write a clear first-move plan: workflow, data, integrations, AI steps, and what Upper Plain will ship.
• Run the free consultation and later working sessions with founders and operations leaders.
• Stay on the account after kickoff so the plan does not drift away from the software being built.
• Help the delivery team sequence the request list when the business changes.

What you bring

• Several years in operations, implementation, solutions, or consulting where you had to make software fit real work.
• Hands-on time in CRMs, ERPs, accounting, or industry platforms. You have configured them, integrated them, or built around them.
• Experience turning a vague request (“we need a dashboard”, “we need AI”) into a specific workflow and owner.
• You use AI daily to research, draft, structure interviews, and prepare briefs, then you verify facts with the client.
• You can say no when a feature-for-feature clone or a one-week prototype is the wrong job.

AI-first, in practice

• You treat AI as a working method: notes, synthesis, process maps, and first drafts start in a model and get edited by you.
• You can spot where automation or an agent removes copying, chasing, or document grinding, and where it would create risk.
• You have shipped or specified at least one live workflow that uses a model with human review.
